2. Following rules and regulations
The examples given are only meant as a guide; the exact procedures and requirements should be discussed with the music director and/or the person who will preside over your wedding, well in advance of your wedding. Every church, synagogue, mosque, etc. will have different procedures and regulations regarding the music at your wedding.
You may be required to sit down one-on-one with the music director and/or the wedding officiant to go over the music available and what you will be allowed to use. Many churches, especially the Catholic Church, have special requirements regarding music and what music is appropriate to use during the ceremony or Mass. You may be required to choose only hymns and approved classical music. There may also be limitations on the use of outside musicians and singers; you may be required to use only the musicians and singers provided by the church. Some churches hold special workshops to showcase the music available for your wedding. These are valuable assets in choosing the right music and learning about the exact procedures in planning your wedding at that particular church. These are also valuable in that you can hear the church provided musicians and singers ahead of time. This will allow you to compare and contrast the musician and singers' abilities so that you can choose music that will sound good when played and sung by the musician and singer you choose. Check with your church to find out when these events may be held.
